Kids River Ramble

Join us on a slower paced wildlife walk aimed at kids. Try and spot all the creatures on the activity sheet!

Every Monday in July from 10:30am to 11:15 am.

No need to book, just arrive 10 minutes before the start of the walk and pay at the shop till. £1 per child, adults go free! All children must be accompanied by an adult.

This activity is weather dependant and may not run if the weather is poor.

Storytelling session of Gigantic

Join us for a free Storytelling Session of the amazing Gigantic! Followed by some colouring in.

Meet Gigantic, the smallest blue whale in the Atlantic. A swimmingly good story about little fins and big hearts from bestselling author and illustrator, Rob Biddulph.

No booking required, children must be accompanied by an adult.
11:15am start.

Nature Champions

Location: WDC's Scottish Dolphin Centre

Come and join us at the Scottish Dolphin Centre for a fun filled children’s holiday club aimed at 6 – 9 year olds.

Each session will have a range of games and activities with a different conservation or nature theme. Meet in the Scottish Dolphin Centre Education Room, or come to the shop and our staff will tell you where to go!

Please come dressed appropriately for the weather.

All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Each child needs their own tickets, which can purchased through Eventbrite, but adults don’t need to book.

Family wildlife walk

Date: 06-08-24
Time: 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

This walk will show you different wildlife that is around Spey Bay and along the river bank. It’s aimed at families with activity sheets for the kids to fill in as we go. There is no age limit but keep in mind that it is a hour and a half walk and little legs may get tired. The path is level but can be a bit wet or muddy in places if there’s been a lot of rain so please wear approate clothing and foorwear.

Friday 12th July – 10:30am to 12:00pm

Friday 19th July – 10:30am to 12:00pm

Tuesday 6th August – 10:30am to 12:00pm

Tickets are £6 for adults and £3 for kids. All kids need to accompanied by a paying adult.

Please arrive at least 5 minutes before the start of the walk.

Early Morning Photography Walk

Date: 16-08-24
Time: 7:00 am - 9:00 am

Join SDC Officer Cath for an early morning wander around Spey bay with your camera. Otters are often seen earlier in the morning and there is a wide range of other wildlife to see in the area.

Tickets are £10. Children must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket. We recommend that only children over 12 attend . Group numbers will be kept to 8 guests and 2 guides.

Friday 28th June 7am to 9am & Friday 16th August 7am to 9am.

Please meet on the grass opposite the main entrance to the Centre at least 5 minutes before the walk starts. Sensible footwear and clothing are essential, avoiding bright colours where possible.

There are no restrictions on what camera you have but if you have something with a good zoom it will help to get some good photos.

The walk is weather dependant so please check that it is still going ahead if the forecast is poor.
