School visit to WDC:

Bring your class for a visit to WDC’s Scottish Dolphin Centre at Spey Bay. Our enthusiastic education team provides practical hands-on and outdoor activities exploring various topics including Cetaceans, wildlife and history, conservation and more.

Timings: Visits to our centre are flexible and timings can be adjusted to suit your class schedule.

Price: We do not charge for any of our education activities however as we are a charity we gratefully appreciate any possible donations. For school visits to our centre we suggest a donation of £1 per student.

SDC High school and Higher education activities

For the school year 2023-2024, we can provide up to £250 per school to contribute towards bus costs for travel to WDC’s Scottish Dolphin Centre.

WDC visit to your school:

Our education team also offers in-school workshops. A member of education team will visit your class to give an interactive workshop.

We offer the following workshops:

  • S1/S2 Biodiversity and Interdependence (50mins)
  • Captivity (50mins)
  • Global Issues and MPAs – can be amended to suit high school and higher education groups
  • The work of WDC: Research, Education and Campaigns – aimed at Environmental Conservation students or equivalent/similar subjects
  • We do not charge for WDC visits to your class. Donations are welcome.

Our education team could also make a visit with our newest team member, Hope, our inflatable humpback whale! Find out more about a visit from Hope here.

Kids River Ramble

Date: 29-07-24
Time: 10:30 am - 11:15 am

Join us on a slower paced wildlife walk aimed at kids. Try and spot all the creatures on the activity sheet!

Every Monday in July from 10:30am to 11:15 am.

No need to book, just arrive 10 minutes before the start of the walk and pay at the shop till. £1 per child, adults go free! All children must be accompanied by an adult.

This activity is weather dependant and may not run if the weather is poor.

Storytelling session of Gigantic

Join us for a free Storytelling Session of the amazing Gigantic! Followed by some colouring in.

Meet Gigantic, the smallest blue whale in the Atlantic. A swimmingly good story about little fins and big hearts from bestselling author and illustrator, Rob Biddulph.

No booking required, children must be accompanied by an adult.
11:15am start.

Nature Champions

Date: 01-08-24
Time: 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Location: WDC's Scottish Dolphin Centre

Come and join us at the Scottish Dolphin Centre for a fun filled children’s holiday club aimed at 6 – 9 year olds.

Each session will have a range of games and activities with a different conservation or nature theme. Meet in the Scottish Dolphin Centre Education Room, or come to the shop and our staff will tell you where to go!

Please come dressed appropriately for the weather.

All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Each child needs their own tickets, which can purchased through Eventbrite, but adults don’t need to book.
